The Textile Bowl
Inside the Victorian cash box were three cash bowls, I removed them and made three new bowls from tissue paper mache.
Once the basic bowl was made I manipulated pieces of organza, silk and velvet (some of which had been printed on) onto the outside of the bowl, holding this down with metalic stitches. I also wove dies ostrich feathers into this. I used the back of the stitches, inside the bowl to hold various pieces of ephemera - buttons, shells, stamps, feathers, petals and printed leaves etc - in memory of my mums passion of collecting.
