Demise of Class 50, 50025 - Revisited

In August 1989 Class 50, 50025 was derailed outside West Ealing station when vandals placed a length of rail across the main line. The locomotive travelled for half a mile before turning on its side. There were no fatalities or serious injuries but the locomotive was so badly damaged it was written off. The locomotive ended up at Vic Berry's scrap yard in Leicester. This photo was taken on 20.1.1990 at the scrap yard. On the 10.3.1991 a serious fire broke out at the scrap yard which led to it's eventual closure in June 1991.
