Up a Tree

This black bear cub, his sibling and his mother were all high in a tree very close to the road on Dunraven Pass. I took this from the car but people standing at the guard rail looked to be about 20 feet -- no Ranger yet!! I had the telephoto pulled back and had a hard time getting a whole bear in the frame.. Mama was breaking off pinecone-laden branches to fall to the ground and all of them noshed on a few in the tree. I think it must be a Whitebark Pine treasured by bears and birds for its pine nuts.
