Pattapix
Pieces 1/52
I've had this idea for a while, so when the 'pieces' challenge came out I new exactly what I wanted to do. However this isn't it..... I actually wanted to use puzzle pieces instead of the mosaic texture that I actually used. Then the puzzle pieces would fall off my face. It was just two time consuming to create a puzzle texture in photoshop and I didn't want to steel someone else's texture. Perhaps next time someone I know completes a puzzle I can photograph it before they dismantle it.
Our Daily Challenge - Pieces
The Tech Info:
Strobist:
One light set up - Canon 580exII full power in brolly box camera left and slightly in front. Triggered with Cactus V4.
Photoshop mosaic texture:
Using the rendering clouds filter I created some clouds on a new layer. I then used the Texture Stained Glass filter to create a shaded mosaic tile effect (who would have thought I'd ever use that filter). The hardest and most crucial part was to make the mosaic look three dimensional. I used the liquify to shape the mosaic around my face. (Wish I had another subject... I'm sick of looking at myself.) After the mosaic was shaped I simply used the magic wand to select various parts of the mosaic to delete from my face. There are quite a few more steps that that but that is essentially what I did.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to fire away.
