Growing along the north side of the house in full shade:

 

Dark Dancer Clover (Trifolium repens 'Atropurpureum')

Ground Ivy (Glechoma hederacea)

Jack Frost Brunerra (Brunerra macrophylla 'Jack Frost')

Brunnera (Brunnera macrophylla)

Virginia Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana glauca)

Cranesbill (Geranium sanguineum)

 

All are very vigorous groundcovers that compete for space, light and water, but the overall effect is a lush carpet of foliage with a variety of colors and textures from spring to frost. Most bloom in the spring, adding to the palette of colors.
