Skagit Tulip Festival 2011 - Roozen Gaarde

Here's another image that I've revisited. On this day, the shooting conditions were not ideal. The hills in the background were backlit and with thick overcast, it was difficult to get an even exposure. However, I was able to get just enough detail in the clouds to really bring them out in post processing. From the start, I really wanted to make this image look more dramatic and I don't think I was able to achieve that at first. This time around, I used Photomatix to tone map and used curves in LR3 to give it some snap.

Also, who said you can't take landscapes at 70mm!?
