Command Bunker
Having made it to the top of the stair ascending Mount Aksla we spent some time exploring. I came across this WW2 bunker, part of the German fortifications around the city.
The 117a command bunker was HQ for the Ålesund region. It is still in a good state along with a variety of supporting bunkers; a kitchen bunker with a wooden water tank, some personnel bunkers and a Vf Fire-control / observation bunker all located around the 117.
