Topsy Turvy Tree Block
I originally made this block for one of my virtual quilting bees. It now appears in the book "Modern Blocks: 99 Quilt Blocks from Your Favorite Designers!"
It's fun, easy to make, and a great way to use up your scraps. Try making this block in 4 different colorways for a mini quilt of the seasons. Or try making it super-whimsical, with purple leaves and an orange trunk. The possibilities are endless!
TIP FOR THE PATTERN: If you keep the printed side of the paper pattern facing you, the block will be reversed. You can (i) re-trace the lines on the back side of the paper (apparently this is the correct method for paper piecing), (ii) reverse it on the copy machine when you enlarge the pattern or (iii) simply make a reversed tree.
Once you complete the block, feel free to send me a copy for my blog!
