February 2011 - Windmill Block!

For February's block of the month for the Hip 2 Bee Square quilting bee, Kerry asked us to make blocks for a "town" quilt. The blocks didn't have to be just houses, so I tried to think outside the box. I thought a windmill would be fun, surrounded by rows of flowers (hey, maybe the town is in the Netherlands)!
The block measures 12.5 inches square and features piecing as well as applique. I also added a few gnomes (they seemed to be the perfect size for the windmill)! I hope Kerry's daughter enjoys it!
