A Tale Of Woe
Daily Post #19
OK the last post I did told the future! My unscheduled break from daily post has been caused by my internet being cursed...
19th - Router is saying my password is wrong. Bit odd as I hadn't changed it. Password retrieval line unavailable so decide to leave it for the day.
20th - Still no change. Faff around with router for ages (inadvertantly resetting and losing the password - this is an important feature in my woe). Email tech support and wait.
23rd - Response from tech support, no problem with line. Try to phone them up and there's a recorded message saying the systems are being upgraded and will be back on 24th.
24th - I realise that I have deleted my password and don't know what it is. Password retrieval service still unavailable and unfortunately, the call centre had closed by this time.
26th - A letter arrives telling me I have a future of brighter broadband. Well, just having it would improve things but the upshot is that the exchange is being upgraded on the 2nd and I'll lose connection for a while. By this point I have fallen out of the habit of regular internet use and decide to be patient.
So the 2nd of February comes and goes...Nothing. I phone up all available phone numbers but my home phone number is not recognised and they have crappy automated systems which mean I can't get through. Once again I am waiting for an email response.
In the meantime, I'm using public wifi.
