365:365 The End

02.11.2009

I made it!!!

For those of you thinking of doing a 365, I recommend planning it so you finish on a weekend! I had a final shot planned that involved getting up and dawn and going to the beach before work... but no I couldn't drag myself out of my toasty bed.

Plan B - Draw on self. This is actually a mirror image of me as stupidly I wrote on myself the wrong way round.

At the start of my project I started a little group called 365 Community with the aims to create a small support group to help those of us doing non selfie projects. It has grown and grown and it has become a wonderful, supportive and friendly place and I thank every single member who has helped make it that way. I'll still be posting there as Suz came up with the genius plan of the 365 Alumni. Speaking of Suz, she has been so much help with the group and is a wonderful photographer to boot. Thank you!

I've met some of those "weirdos off the internet" too and had some great days out.

Here's some stats for the year:

136 photos that the donkey liked.

1 hideous video in Explore - eep!

121 selfies!

I completed 11.5 scavenger hunts - yes I messed one up :(

I have learned I love low key lighting and really like a platinum tint on black and white. I also have a thing for drawing on myself...

All without having one bit of fancy kit. My camera a bridge camera (Flickr classify it as a point and shoot), I used a plastic IKEA box as a light box and all my lighting was done with IKEA lamps and the occasional on camera flash.

For everyone that has commented, faved or just lurked, thank you for your support.

But don't worry! I'm not going anywhere. No, not a year 2 just yet but I would like to do another one when I upgrade to a DSLR...a while off yet. I'll be hanging around 365 Community, The Rogue Players and MSH lots and still posting regularly, just not every day. If you miss me that much, follow me on Twitter.
