The police department has 4 officers. I have met the chief, who is a nice guy, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Skagway is where one can get a ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway train, which travels into Canada. This is why the badges have a train in the center seal.
Skagway is also where there are approximately 42 jewelry stores in the summer.
