RCMP GRC stetson

From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police - some RCMP insignia

Here is a picture of the stetson worn by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The GRC stands for Gendarmerie royale du Canada since Canada has French and English as official languages.

This, especially with the red RCMP dress uniform, is likely the most recognized uniform in the world.

Click on the photo for a better look at this.

The front of the hat is at the left side of the picture. The leather strap is always worn with the buckle on the left side of the wearer's head.

Inside on the brim is embossed in gold colored letters, R.C.M.P. and in another place is embossed, in gold colored letters, Biltmore - the manufacturer.

See the 2 tiny leather straps in front? This is the headstrap which fits on the back of the head, to help keep the hat in place on windy days.

I have seen ventilation holes in newer stetsons.

These are usually kept in a hat press to keep them looking great, as these are not worn everyday for general duty.

Still need - King's Crown insignia.

I have more RCMP insignia on my web site,
