ARIZONA RANGERS older SHOULDER PATCH
Click on the pic for a larger view.
Here is a shoulder patch from the Arizona Rangers.
This patch is the immediate prior issue shoulder patch. Based upon dated photos, I believe it was worn from approximately 1993 to 2005. If you know for sure when it was worn, feel free to leave a comment below.
This patch replaced the oldest style shoulder patch which was state shaped.
It's different from the current style - this one has red letters while the current issue has yellow letters; this one has a larger 5 point star; and this one does not have EST. 1901 on the bottom like the current one has.
Per Wikpedia, the Arizona Rangers is a noncommissioned civilian auxiliary that supports law enforcement in the state of Arizona. They have state-wide jurisdiction. Per state statute, Rangers can provide armed law enforcement assistance to any State, Federal, Local or Tribal law enforcement agency in Arizona. Police departments often call in the Rangers to assist with tasks such as traffic control, surveillance, crime scene preservation, court security, and prisoner transportation.
