With little time to spare, I flew through the 100-mile-or-so trip from just south of Portland to make the visitor's center at Johnston Ridge just 30 minutes prior to close. Here is a 'Spider Module' which housed scientific instruments at the crater until an eruption demolished it earlier in the year.
