Dad
On Friday the 13th, I said my final farewells to Dad when he died peacefully and surrounded by love.
His list of accomplishments in his nearly 88 years was enormous, and I don’t think he could have fit much more into his life. He worked harder than anyone I have ever met, and he helped and inspired so many people along the way.
He excelled as a barrister and worked not only here in Australia but also in the US, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Papua New Guinea, and, in one of his career highlights, he appeared before the Privy Council in England. Later he became a judge and was also a lecturer at a university in Italy.
I’ll miss his gentle warmth, his raucous laughter, his intelligence, his immeasurable generosity, and his courage in fighting to bring more justice and integrity to our world.
I’ll never forget you and will always feel immense gratitude for the wonderful life you gave me and that I was fortunate enough to share with you.
