Patients 1909

Two female patients at Wisconsin State Sanatorium. November 1909. The only cure for tuberculosis at the time was plenty of fresh air, rest and a nutritious food. Patients lived and slept in cottages with open porches no matter the temperature. Patients used hot water bottles in the early 1900's and light bulbs in a small wooden cages later on to keep warm under the blankets.
