Paris Shakespeare & Co 2

Shakespeare & Company, Quai Saint-Michel, Paris

For years, George, the owner would work there by himself. In the wintertime, he would keep the change in a tin box laid on top of the stove next to him. Whenever he gave back change, the coins would be hot and he'd say "Honest people don't take hot money" and laugh. I'm talking from the early seventies to the mid-eighties here.
