The western countries particularly the imperialist powers have been trying from the very beginning to get an .opportunity to intervene in Libya. The United States ftrst offered military help to the rebels, who rightly refused its offer. After that, there has been a concerted attempt to declare a No-0 Fly zone and ultimately launch a military offensive against Qaddafi's regime. A couple of days .

As the studen\ comm u nily is aware, yesterday J N U 's Academic CounciI (AC) agreed to our tong-standing demand that JNU's illegaland faulty cut-oft criteria tor OBC seats will have to be changed in keeping with the 7 September 2010 verdict of the Delhi High CotJrt (HC). The AC has held that 7 sep HC verdict will have to be implemented in JNU's admission .
process, and appropriate changes will nave to be instituted..
Several other issues were also raised and clinched at the AC meeting. Regarding our demand of implementing the legally mandated SC/S T /0BC reservations in Iacuity posts, the AC1ransferred this issue tor the Executive eounci\ (EC) to address. JNU's EC has been iven the mandate to took into issues of hoW to rationalize the roster towards im tementin .
SC/ST/OBC reservations in tacult osts. Atter the roster has been rationalized by the EC, advertisements will .
immediately be brought out by the JNU administration to facilitate facultY appointments. .
The AC also agreed to make public the marks received by all the candidates seeking admission in JNU: marKs received in the interview as well as in the written exam, along with deprivation points awarded, will be made public by the JNU administration on the JNU website a\ the time when final results tor all programmes are declared. .
Regarding our demand of Expansion Of Madarsa certlflcate Recognition in JNU, an Equivalence committee has been constituted by the AC. Prof. R.N. Menon (Dean of SLL&CS) is the chairperson of the committee. and Prot. .
The AC's decision to implem entthe 7th Sep HC verdict is clear vindicatlon of aur persistent struggle the past tew years. It is the consistent pressure tram the progressive sections of the enlire J N U community which has resulted in this victory tor Farooqi, and Prot. Kamal Mitra Cheneyare members. .
