Maschinengewehr-Unterricht with various elite mountain warfare units

A very interesting postcard with a mixed group of mainly Bavarians and some Prussians. The back is marked F.W. Putsch, vorm. D. Burghold, Atelier " Bavaria", a photographer in Lager Lechfeld, one of the training grounds. This is pretty close to the Alps and explains the presence of many mountain troopers in this picture.

Few shoulder straps can be made out, but still at least 5 different units are present here. It is very likely that this is a Maschinengewehr instruction course for the MG15.

Some soldiers of mountain units can also be seen, including Landsturm, men of the Alpenkorps and the Karpathenkorps, ranging from Jägers to a GMGA soldier. In the center of an officer of a Mashinengewehr Sharfschützenabteilung. Such men were elite soldiers, recruited from all branches to form these versatile expert units.

Please check out the enlargements in comment for further details.

It should date no earlier than late 1916 as some Bavarians with the 'Bluse' can be seen, which was not adopted by them earlier than this. Also, the Carpathian corps badge was not issued much earlier.
