Natural lake wonder in the Alps

No.1 In Explore April 14, 2025

At the foot of the Blüemlisalphorn, at an altitude of 1,578 meters, lies one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps.

From the town of Kandersteg, a cable car takes you to the starting point of the hike to the lake. The path runs through picturesque forests and pastures.

The waters of the purest lake are fed by glacial streams flowing down from an altitude of 3,000 m.

The emerald and deep blue color of the lake, the breathtaking surrounding mountain views, and the untouched nature make a visit to this corner of nature unforgettable.

The lake has been part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn UNESCO World Heritage Site.
