St. Ann's
Dawson Street, Dublin. 1719, by Isaac Wills, facade 1868 by Thomas Newenham Deane. A sober Early Georgian galleried hall, remarkable in being axially aligned with South Ann Street.
I'd never been in here before and always imagined a more elaborate interior, but then again Church of Ireland interiors are always much more restrained than their Catholic counterparts. At least it hasn't been converted into a trendy bar. I believe that they sometimes hold plays and concerts; most recently a reinactment of Bram Stoker's wedding to Florence Balcombe which took place here on December 4th, 1878.
