Requiescat in pace

Sheltered by palms, cypresses and huge Mediterranean pines, Rome's crumbling Protestant cemetery is an oasis of calm in the city.

'It might make one in love with death to be buried in so sweet a place,' said Shelley, after visiting the place. It was set up for non-Catholic foreigners around 1740, and Shelly was buried here in 1822, alongside Keats. Well worth the visit if you're in the city. If you're into your old cemeteries that is.
