The Armada Bar
In Belleek Castle, Ballina, Co. Mayo. This is a recreation of the Captain's Ward Room from the galleon of the "Spanish Armada". This was seemingly constructed from Great Oak Balks salvaged from the galleons of the ill fated "Castile Squadron" wrecked on the Atlantic Coast of Co. Mayo four centuries ago. Who knows...maybe it's true. They serve good Guinness anyway. Various artefacts are exhibited and a classic "figurehead" of the Conquistador Hernando Cortez looks over the scene. If you happen to find yourself here it's a nice place for a brew, I'd say especially so in Winter, with the fires burning.
