Holocaust Memorial Visitor Center
Near the Brandenburg Gate at Cora-Berliner-Straße 1 Berlin, by Peter Eisenman
A very beautiful sequence of subterranian spaces designed in unison with the overhead Holocaust Memorial
This room contains letters from people at the time describing the chaos that they and their families were experiencing at the hands of the Nazis. Note the ceiling which corresponds with the undulations of the pathways through the memorial at ground level. Each recess in the ceiling corresponds with a stone slab above.
