The Waterloo

En route to see The Boss in the R.D.S I popped into The Waterloo on Baggot Street to meet some buddies and to have a few pre-gig brews. Rarely do I take a dislike to a place as quickly as I did with this spot, and I have to say that it was the staff that turned me right off. Rudeness is one thing, but coupled with an inability to understand and deliver an order it's intolerable.

Having worked behind bars for a substantial part of my life I know how difficult dealing with the drinking public can be, but acting like your mother has just been insulted when you've just been asked for a pint of plain will insure that the drinking public will do you a favour and stay away. They do finger food should you need a snack, just ask them very nicely in case you upset anyone. It's a shame really, it's a handsome enough space for a corridor, let down by a bunch of monkeys. Maybe I got them on a bad day, but I won't be back in a hurry to see if I'm wrong. All style and no substance if you ask me...
