Museum Building Stairwell
Trinity College Dublin 1853-7 by Deane + Woodward
A landmark in the development of Gothic Revival architecture, the museum has been hailed as an early manifestation of Ruskinian Gothic and a predecessor of Deane + Woodward's more famous Oxford Museum of 1855-60. This is the grand stairhall. An amazing space by any standards. Notice the handrails; a broad flat band of Connemara marble. Larger on Black
