View from Mullagh Hill
Mullagh, or Mullach, Co. Cavan. New Year's Day, 2008. The word "mullach" in Irish means the highest point; this hill is the highest point for many miles, hence the name of the village you can see just to the left of the lake. I grew up in this town. It used to be a single street in the middle of the countryside, but with the addition of anonomous housing estates out every road over recent years much of what was beautiful and unspoilt about the place has now been destroyed. Shame...once it's gone you can't get it back. I now know I can use the phrase "I remember once when this was all fields", though it doesn't give me any pleasure.
Part of the Ireland set.
