Thomas Reid's

On the corner of Parliament Street and Dame Street, Dublin. Haven’t been in here in ages…I usually avoid anywhere with bouncers in the evenings. This is a popular spot though. This room is great; bright and airy, which is a rarity with Dublin pubs. Windows around the perimeter ensure good people watching potential. There’s a cafe atmosphere to the place during the day, and they do good pub grub too. The problem, along with every other bar in Dublin’s city center, is that when it’s packed (which is most nights of the week) it’s a nightmare.

There are two other sections to the place; The Oak (next door on Dame Street) is much more traditional looking and is a nice spot for a brew, and downstairs there’s a club-like room you can rent out for various occasions. All sections are equally afflicted by hoards of a busy night, but if you get it when it’s calm it’s one of the nicer bar interiors in Dublin.
