How many more Rape victims?
Enough of giving suggestions, advices , tips and tricks to our women on how not to get raped. And please stop blaming victims. It time to wake up and do what is necessary to protect them against inhumane crimes. Good citizens are tired and asking for social change and justice.
This is not just a government problem, is not just a police/law and order problem, this is not so called government corruption. This is not an economic problem. This problem is now widespread across casts, regions and religions and socioeconomic conditions.
It is not going to be solved through new rape laws alone. Oh.. you do not believe this happens in India ? ask your mother, sister , your wife or any women who works outside home, if they were ever felt violated. Yes, most men are good., but that is not good enough.
It is much more than that. Its social and collective conscience of a moral and civilized society. It's about the dignity and basic common values of our society, it is about dignity and safety of our girls. As a society we all have a responsibility to stand against these people who violate the basic security of fellow human beings. The safety of our females is our national security issue.
No man has neither right nor excuse to blame anyone but his own evil thought to rape women ... Just because how modern women dress, nudity in the movies , alcohol, social progress of women, women walking in the street after dark or innocent foreigner traveling in the country.
It is time for society to wake up , introspect, discuss, reform and behave as civilized men and teach basic values to our children so that our girls, mothers, wives and sisters do not have to live in constant fear of terror of rape,cat calls, whistles, groping and touching, eve teasing and sexual harassments.
You see there are lots of topics up for debate ... But this is not one of them. It is the responsibility of each one of us (both men and women) to say enough is enough and stand with our beloved Mother India.
