1301_0623 Eastern Cottonwood
We're having very mild weather this week and it looks as if the cottonwood buds are running with sap. The deep freeze is coming back, of course, so this is a false start; spring is still two months or so away. Nevertheless, this is good to see. For this shot I used the 105mm macro on a tripod. One small area was slightly out of focus, but I had shot several frames and a slight breeze had shifted the focus, so I was able to lift the sharp portion from another frame and blend it into this one. In my neighbour's backyard, Val Marie, Saskatchewan.
