2511_0854 Aurora Over Grain Bins
There were some amazing Aurora borealis displays last week - two nights in a row. The sky in my area was clear on the first night, so off I went, heading toward the park. Grasslands is an official Dark Sky Preserve, but really, much of the surrounding area is just as dark. This was my first stop (of seven). In relatively flat country the challenge is finding something of interest to place in the foreground, so I was thinking of these granaries from the moment I escaped the bright lights of Val Marie. A six-minute drive. Grab the shot, quick, before the show fades away!
But it didn't. The photo ops kept coming. Stay tuned over the next few days, because I have more in the queue. What fun!
