2509_1204 Coyote Visits Dogtown
"Some photographers take reality... and impose the domination of their own will and spirit. Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation." - Ansel Adams
Early morning, driving very slowly, I watched this young Coyote cross the road in front of me and follow invisible scent trails through the prairie dog town. It looks like I was lying flat on my stomach, but I actually made this shot from the rolling red Toyota blind. I had stopped on a slight rise. The prairie flattened out at the top, where the dogtown began.
More Coyote shots coming... fall is the season to look for them in my area, as the tourists thin out to few or none, and the pups have grown to full size and are dispersing - and often unafraid of us humans. Just when the migratory birds disappear to the south, other photo-ops present themselves. This place pulsates with life.
