2305_1405 Wilson's Phalarope
Two Wilson's Phalaropes and two Marbled Godwits were working the lush grass along Butte Road. They didn't flush when I stopped the car, and they didn't flush when I eased out, moseyed to the edge of a ditch, jumped over the wet part at the bottom, then crawled up the other side. That produced a very nice eye level view of the female phalarope.
The phalaropes have just returned from Argentina, where they spent the winter.
