2212_1340 Red Fox

It was one of those chance encounters. Coming home from the park, I spotted this Red Fox crouching in a mostly bare field of wheat stubble. I coasted to a stop, window down, and we eyed each other for a while. Finally the fox broke from cover and I shot several long bursts of it, running hard. Beautiful critter. Not really how I like things to play out, but if it's afraid of humans, that is probably for the best.

The soft light really brought out those rich reds in its fur, and I had watched it long enough that by the time it ran, all the warm air inside the rolling red Toyota blind had escaped so there was no distortion from heat exchange.

I upscaled this image slightly in ON1 resize to tighten the crop while maintaining a fairly large hi-res master file.

I've been sick for the past week so my commenting has tailed off, but as my energy returns I will be more active.
