2212_0904 Hoarfrost

We've had two superlative hoarfrost mornings so far this winter. Here I wandered down my street and up the alley, where I plunked my tripod down and made this shot of frost-coated branches. This was a few days before the deadly cold that has kept me grounded for the past week. That weather system is finally breaking up as we speak, and the forecast is for a balmy 0°C (32°F) on Christmas Day.
