2202_0915 Snowy Owl

When this juvenile Snowy Owl came off the power pole, it flew away across a field, but then surprised me by doubling back and doing an overhead flyby. Realizing that little if any of its undersurface would be in direct sun, I did a quick exposure adjustment. It wasn't perfect, but close enough, with plenty of detail in the slightly underexposed RAW files.

Shooting manual rather than automatic exposure settings meant that all the exposures were identical, and therefore required identical adjustments. Easy!

I did a minor amount of upscaling with ON1 Resize to tighten the crop while retaining a hi res TIF file of 50 MB, a standard I try to maintain. When clients come calling I want them to know they will get a top quality image from me.
