2109_2383 Canada Jay
I'm back home after a brief (ten days) trip through the Canadian Rockies. It seems appropriate, therefore, to open with this shot of a Canada Jay, formerly called "Gray Jay", often referred to by its nickname, Whiskey Jack. I can't begin to recount all the times a visit from the local Whiskey Jacks has brightened my campsites or provided company along a mountain trail - even if they do steal food at every opportunity. Wild critters tend to be opportunists - not unlike photographers.
Lots more to come in all the main categories of nature photography: wildlife, landscape, macro. And I hope to catch up on the work of my flickr-friends over the next few days.
Photographed in Jasper National Park, Alberta (Canada). Don't use this image on websites, blogs, or other media without explicit permission ©2021 James R. Page - all rights reserved.
