2106_2361 Common Tern

Common Terns are swift in the air, turning and swooping, which makes them very difficult to track. But they hover. Birds that hover are a blessing bestowed upon aging photographers! I was able to lock the focus, and even anticipate their sudden, nearly vertical dive to try to snatch a small fish from the shallows. This particular tern was having some success, and repeatedly came back to the same general area, paying no attention to the dude sitting on the shore with his camera. In less than an hour I came away with nearly 400 shots. Here's a taste; more to follow when I find some time to catch up on processing.
