2101_1073 Coyote

Last shot in the coyote-badger set. After giving a long and really LOUD howl - see the two previous shots - she trotted away, presumably to reconnoitre with another pack member, and then returned to casually stroll past me at close range. I was still shooting from my car. This took place before she cozied up to the badger, and before I slithered through the melting snow and mud for close ups. Stories don't have to be told in chronological order; see Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (for example).

Mid-winter is a tough time to try photographing wildlife on the northern prairie, so I am eternally grateful for this hour spent with two prairie predators.
