2011_2688 Rough-legged Hawk
I see Rough-legged Hawks in all but the coldest weeks of winter, during which they tend to drift a little farther south. A very sparse snow cover - so far - seems to have induced them to linger, continue thinning out our rodent population, and give me the occasional good photo op. It's completely subjective, but I think they're our most beautiful hawk!
