1511_0963 Sleepy Coyote
This is one of the two Coyotes I photographed teasing a Badger, as some of you might recall from a recent upload. When the game ended, both coyotes curled up on the open prairie for a nap. I took the opportunity to stalk them with tripod and the 500 mm, duck-walking in a crouch, stopping often, using sagebrush as occasional cover. Anytime one of them stirred, I would freeze, and they were unaware of me until I was quite close.
When they finally noticed me and sat up, this was the response... not too concerned. I'd like to write more about this encounter but for some reason I feel like curling up for a nap on my living room floor.
