Re-Build around 126 AD, this temple is one of the best preserved ancient roman buildings. Presumably, it was dedicated to all the ancient roman gods, then around 609 AD got nicked by the catholic church and subsequently converted to a church. The size of that dome is designed to make the worshipper feel small in the presence of his gods. Ooops, not my concept.
