Table Mountain
backcountry trail near the mt. baker ski area, table mountain in the background.
On the way out after sleeping in our snow cave I turned around and snapped this image with my canon A710IS.
Oh, by the way, xcountry skiing is apparently at odds with snowshoers. I had no idea you were not supposed to walk in their tracks. When you meet somone on skis, they act like pompous jerkoffs with derogatory overtones. What the heck - why can't they just break a new trail with the skis? After a few encounters I have come to dislike the average x country skier.
I asked a guy on the trail about the difference between xcountry and 'shoeing it and he said," snowshoes are for when skiiers go to hell." (said with angry passion) WTF? could you be more of an ass? Here I am having a wonderful day and this is the attitude I get on the trail? Lighten up for christ's sake.
"Hikers and snowshoe users are reminded not to walk in cross country ski tracks as this hinders the skiers' use of trails. "
IS IT NOT EASIER for a x country skier to break a new trail as they glide at 20 MPH rather than a snowshoer sinking up to their knees with every step? It is like a pedestrian vs mechanized travel. Correct me if I am wrong, I have only been out 2 times and don't know squat about the rules of the trail.
UPDATE: if you really want me to join it to your group/pool you are gonna have to wait till you buy me a gift PRO acct as a free acct is limited to ten. thanks though!
