The something made of wood is a knobbly walking stick I bought in Lyon flea market. It has a a green agate handle beneath the flat cap, which I bought in the James Herriot museumin Thirks last summer, thinking my grandson might like it. Turns out he already has several Peaky Blinders caps and is not interested in the tweedy headgear of a Yorkshire farmer. So it's left for me to wear and I quite like it, except people keep calling me "Monsieur" when I do.
