Delivering the development message

Gillian Merron, Parliamentary Under Secretarty of State for International Development, addressed over 120 people at a on ODI event on the theme of: 'Delivering the development message: why it matters.'

Her message was that the UK has seen a golden thread of support for development over the last few years but that, with new economic challenges on the horizon, we need to find new ways of getting the message accross. She said the development community needed to do a better job tellimng its story and that the UK government must be more accountable and answerable to British taxpayers who fund international development.
