Daniel, Peru

Three years ago there was no light or electricity in my community – it was very dangerous to walk through the streets because they were so dark and dangerous. At that time, we did not have any stairs and it was very easy to slip down the hill in the mud when it rained because you couldn't see much.

One day, all the neighbours decided to have a meeting to speak about a new law that would bring electricity to some communities. But we had to apply. Slowly but surely a lot of contractors began to arrive due to the strength and the pressure that we all put on this new law. Immediately, all the neighbours started to work on the roads to allow the machinery to come up the hills and in more or less a year, the hill started to shine and all the roads came out of the infinite darkness. I will never forget that day.
