In my village we used to mainly grow rice on our farmland, but there hasn't been enough water these last few years so we have started growing maize instead. It is more profitable to grow rice and, because we can no longer grow it, we have to buy it for our meals. The snail shells on the field are a trace of the past. These types of snails live in wet rice fields.
