Haute Route Day 6 - Vignettes Hut to Zermatt

This is the big day of the Haute route, 1100m vertical gain, 30kms of skiing, 3 Cols and 7 Glaciers.

A cold pre-dawn start had us half way up the first climb as the sun rose, unfortunately Andrew was having serious problems with pain in one of his knees and we were wondering if we would need to bail out to Arolla.

Enter the local pharmacist (me!) and some drugs, combined with the knee warming up and thankfully it was fine for the rest of the day.

Again we had good enough weather but we did get hammered by wind for a period of the day otherwise perfect blue skies and great views of the Matterhorn (Aspiring is better looking).
