The North Face of the Tour Ronde, II D 350m

A quick blast into Italy with Marcus and Max, with the aim to get high into the mountains before Marcus had to return to reality and a year of thesusing.

So a 30min drive (most of which was in the Mt Blanc tunnel!!!) into Italy, then a couple of cable cars to the Refugio Torrino for the night.

Up early the next morning and a quick walk to the base of the route, climb all day then get back off just as darkness fell. Walk back to the refugio (missed the last cable car by about 4 hours) get fed a 3 course dinner and crash! Catch an early cable car down and pick up an coffee and icecream in Courmeyer and we were back in Chamonix by 11.

Alpinism in the alps is not a very hard life (even if it is a winter north face!).
